Join me in congratulating two couples who have announced their intention to tie the knot: Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi, and Star Trek’s George Takei and his long-time partner Brad.     The Most Powerful Lesbians in America

    power_50_a.gifOUT.com has just released their 2nd Annual Power 50 List - a compilation of the most influential gays and lesbians today. The candidates were restricted to those who are (1) gay themselves (not just gay-friendly) and (2) living and working primarily in North America. So don’t expect high profile people like Elton John, Sir Ian McKellen, Anne Will, or Satsu the Vampire Slayer, even though it would’ve been fun to see them on the list. Closet king and queen Anderson Cooper of CNN and Jodie Foster, however, made it through.

      Ellen: TIME to make them listen

      1997_ellen_degeneres.jpgTime Magazine has started a poll on the Best TIME Cover ever. Guess who’s winning? Yep. The gay one herself, Ellen Degeneres. By a margin of a hundred miles.

      If nothing else, this just proves how intense we lesbians can be when we find something we can identify with, whether it’s a movie, or a TV series, or a comic book, or in this case, an opinion poll. As the old saying goes, there’s power in numbers. If we could only translate that into a solid voting block, then we’d really be in business. But I digress…
