Re: Xander, Dracula & Renee

I've just read Antique and it just reinforces the argument that Dracula has a deep emotional attachment to Xander. He stopped caring about his appearance right after Xander left. With Xander back, he's all handsome again. What does that tell us? Joss loves gay people.

Re: Buffy & Satsu

“if women had power they’d do it different than the men folk”

I love your idea! That's a valid point. Unfortunately, Joss is quite into military-type stuff, a fascination that brought us The Initiative. This makes me want to brush up on the Amazons.

Re: Willow & Satsu

And also, Satsu is Asian, so she's probably a little bit more reserved about these kinds of things (not that I ever pictured Willow as a kiss-and-tell girl). I'm thinking Buffy's "shoe sale noise secrets" are safe. I will be closely following this "dyke drama".

Re: Japanese Vamps

Dawn-zilla! Yay! ^_^

Oh! And thanks for the interpretation!

Actually, I have to thank my friend in Japan whom I woke up early in the morning to extract this information. Hehe. Arigatou gozaimasu, Tsekerd!

Is magic power like regular energy in that it cannot be created or destroyed merely transformed? If that’s a premise then where did Aiko’s power go? Back to the Scythe Scythe or perhaps into the witch’s reserves?

Interesting. You could be on to something here. I guess we'll know the whole mechanics of it next issue. That was a HUGE crystal on the last page.

Buffy did say that though there are many more slayers, the demon forces seemed to have multiplied as well, effectively balancing each other out. So there's also the concept of "for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction."

Hmmm... and the Nerd of Year Award goes to... *cough* *cough*

Re: Xander, Dracula & Renee

I think I'm more bothered that no one has gone for the obvious "Maybe he meant to say 'moops' joke." (That's a dated, and poorly conceived, Seinfeld reference, with my apologies.) Not having read Antique I have not much else to say about this scene except "Yes, Renee v. Dracula would have an entertainment value worth at least twice the price of the average graphic novel."

Re: Buffy & Satsu

"They took the Scythe. The Scythe, scythe. My Scythe."

I'm giving Buffy a teensy bit of latitude here, but just a little. Yes, some Asian Goth Vamps + Witch took your Sharp and Cutty Pretty and you want it back. I get that, really. But there's no cause for snapping at your Asian Pretty about it.

Some things are cleared up: As much as I thought maybe the Slayers weren't set up like an actual military, it seems as though they are. Sort of. (Not really a surprise honestly, but I had outside hopes that there was more power sharing than just the Power Sharing. It's a conception of "if women had power they'd do it different than the men folk" thing.

Re: Willow & Satsu

Even though Willow and Satsu don't know each other that well (from what I gather), Willow's parts of the conversation struck me as very Willow-like. Willesque, even. I laughed. But don't take my different reaction as discounting your own. Willow should know you don't kiss and tell - and certainly not about such details as "shoe sale noises." Amirite?

Despite Willow's assurances, the one person who can shed all the light on the why and say whats on the matter is the one person not yet saying anything. True to the Buffy we know and love I bet she's hoping we'll forget about it so she doesn't have to confront it face on. You'd think she would know us better by now.

Re: Japanese Vamps

The stakes (no pun) of their charade have just been magnified. I don't think the Slayers (all what-hundred of them) are going to take too kindly to one of their own being slaughtered. (It's not clear if they'll discover until it's too late that she was sans-powered when she was bitten.) All this leads into the Big Damn Dawn Smash hinted at in preview images, which, by the way, I am all for.

Oh! And thanks for the interpretation!
