I think I’m kinda gay: The many facets of Willow Rosenberg
Valentines day is fast approaching. Traditionally, it’s that time of the year when we give out (and/or receive) flowers, chocolates, and perhaps jewelry. But I’m a simple girl content with my simple world. A kiss and a hug from my girlfriend is more than enough. Of course, I still have my fantasies, and no, it’s not a diamond ring, but having Miss Willow Rosenberg - in molded plastic. Allow me to indulge my inner Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan.
Doppelgangland, well! Anya does a spell that causes Vampire Willow from an alternate reality to appear in Sunnydale. When I think of this episode, I always get that same eerie feeling when I first saw Vampire Willow walk into the bar while K’s Choice was singing Virgin State of Mind. Perfect. And who could forget Vampire Willow licking Geeky Willow’s neck? OK, sick, but priceless. And the immortal line of foreshadowing, “That’s me as a vampire? I’m so evil, and skanky… and I think I’m kinda gay.” 
This 6-inch statuette includes vampy accessories like whip and handcuffs. Can you say B-D-S-M?
In Season 6 - Villains, Willow loses it after Tara got killed by Warren. A real heart-breaker. Willow is depicted here with her fingers literally immersed inside Giles’ books, absorbing all their magick. The attention to detail for this piece is excellent, right down to the stains on Willow’s top, the veins on her face, her hair starting to go from red to black, and her eyes also becoming black. The only thing missing is the special effects of texts running up her arms and it’ll be like the real thing. Quite scary.
Going back to happier times, this is my favorite Willow statuette. I don’t recall this pose pertaining to a particular scene in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but judging from the hairstyle (yes, I’ve memorized) and the books (seemingly from Giles’ collection), it seems to be circa Season 6. Here Willow is practicing how to float in mid-air amid four candles, smiling and pleased at her accomplishment. In Issue #10 of Buffy Season 8 comics, she does so much more than float - she flies!
Our favorite Wiccan has really come a long way. *sniff sniff*
